We were thrilled to see so many of you visiting our stall at the Craft Fair on Friday. We had a very successful evening. Thank you to the helpful sales assistants. Great job!
Christmas Lights Switch On
This will take place on the village green on Monday, 2nd December (changed from the Tuesday.) The community are again running a competition to have one of the children turn the lights on. Entries of a ‘hanging decoration’ should be handed into school by the morning of Monday, 2nd December when they will be collected.
Parent Council
Many thanks to all those who came to the Parent Council meeting last night. We were able to elect new office bearers and have a brief meeting. More information can be found in the ‘For Parents’ section of the website. We appreciate the support from parents to continue the great partnership working that we have had previously.

Author visit on Tuesday afternoon
Following on from Book Week Scotland, we look forward to welcoming Barbara Henderson to the school on Tuesday afternoon.
Primary 7 ~ Miss Mullin and Mrs James
This Tuesday afternoon (26th November,) children’s writer Barbara Henderson will visit P4-7 to talk about her smuggling novella Black Water.
Barbara is the author of three children’s novels and a novella:
• Highland Clearances novel Fir for Luck, based on real events in Sutherland
• Victorian boy-on-the-run tale Punch, which begins with the fire which destroyed the original Inverness Victorian Market in 1889, set against a lively backdrop of travelling entertainers
• Wilderness Wars, a contemporary eco-thriller for children asking: ‘What if Nature fights back?’
• Black Water, a smuggling novella set in 1792 and featuring the poet Robert Burns
RRP for all books is £6.99 each, but if desired, children will be able to buy a book of their choice for £6.00 , and have it personally signed by the author on the day of the visit.

A reminder that school is closed to pupils on Thursday. 21st and Friday, 22nd this week for the additional staff training days. Staff will complete work in school alongside our other colleagues on Neurodevelopmental Differences followed by online Dramabox training. On Friday, they will look at questionning and planning.
SHSAA Cross Country Cancelled
Unfortunately, after issuing letters yesterday, I have been informed that the Cross Country has now been cancelled. This is due to ongoing difficulties with conditions at Bught Park, not making it safe for the children to run. The Association will look to re-run this next term.
