Well done to all the pupils who took part in this term’s challenge. It has been great to see so many children enjoying chess and developing their chess skills and strategies as the weeks have gone by.

U11s – Alfie M

U12s – Rory M

The results for the overall tournament are:

3rd place – Liam M

2nd place – Conon M

1st place – Rory M

Those who have qualified for the Gigafinals will be given a special certificate. A statement about the Gigafinals is included below – these have been postponed until September /October.

“It is with regret that we have taken the decision to postpone all Megafinals until September at the earliest. This is due to the continuing health crisis surrounding the coronavirus and the uncertainty that this brings for organisers and schools. Our current plan is to run the Gigafinals in October – but of course the situation is rapidly changing.

We still hope to run our competitions later in the year. We will also be running various online competitions and video training sessions throughout the year.”
